Last Friday, Thriftwood College students were invited to plant trees in Tower Gardens, Admirals Park.  This was part of the Queen's Commonwealth Canopy Project and despite the cold and wet weather, the students did a fantastic job, planting around 200 trees. We were all grateful for the help, support, packed lunches and hot drinks provided by Elgan and Shane, who both work for Chelmsford City Council.

The session was attended by Councillor Massey, Vicky Ford MP, the Mayor and Deputy Mayors of Chelmsford and the Lord Lieutenant of Essex, who all helped to plants trees, as part of the ceremony.

The students will feature as part of an article in the spring edition of City Life, to commemorate the Queen's Commonwealth Canopy Project.
