It has been brought to our attention that some parents are receiving texts from people saying they are from the School Nurse Team and asking for personal information to be verified.

School Nurses do not send text messages as their first contact with parents.

If you receive a text message requesting information about your child from anyone purporting to be a School Nurse, please DO NOT engage.

To check the validity of any request received, please contact the Essex Child and Family Wellbeing Service Single Point of Access:

Mid Essex 0300 247 0014 (option 2)

South Essex 0300 247 0013

The Government has introduced a bursary scheme to help students aged 16-19 to maintain a place in full time education.  It is designed to assist students from lower income backgrounds to continue in education where there is financial difficulty.

You should apply for a bursary on behalf of the student as soon as possible.  Please request an Application Form and return it to Thriftwood College.  Please remember to include copies of evidence in order to support your application. Without the evidence your application cannot be processed.

If your son/daughter has already been granted a vulnerable or discretionary bursary and you would like to request a payment towards a specific item or event, please contact the College, who will be pleased to help.

The deadline for applications is 16th September
