Safeguarding

Safeguarding our students is a priority at Thriftwood. Our policies and practices ensure that our students are monitored effectively and are able to develop in a safe and supportive environment.

At Thriftwood, we follow Essex Guidelines for Child Protection (SET), found at Essex Safeguarding Children Board.

All volunteers and visitors should be aware of our procedures for safeguarding children. Our policies include:

  • Child Protection
  • Anti Bullying
  • Behaviour for Learning incorporating the Use of Reasonable Force
  • Safer Recruitment
  • Equal Opportunities

This is underpinned by the key safeguarding document 'Keeping Children Safe in Education'. You can access this by clicking HERE

Our Child Protection Policy can be found under our Policies tab.

Bullying

Information and advice for anyone dealing with bullying can be found by visiting the National Bullying Helpline website by clicking this link: National Bullying Helpline

All bullying is unacceptable and should not be tolerated. It can affect anyone and we are all potential targets - whether we are adult, child or the bullying is at school, in the community, at work, on line or at home. Most people understand bullying as behaviour by an individual or group, repeated over time, that is intended to hurt another individual or group either physically or emotionally.

If you are struggling with bullying, harassment, cyberbullying or anti-social behaviour issues, we hope this website will enable you to identify solutions and remedies along with practical help.
